CEDAR RAPIDS JOB OPENINGS

Therapist I or II

Are you looking to launch your counseling or therapy career? Want to have a private practice without the headache of running a business? Do you want to work for a non-profit where student loan forgiveness applications have already been approved?

We invite you to apply for a position where you are supported in growing your own private practice, surrounded by co-workers who encourage you daily and supervisors who act more like coaches. We provide you with coaching, marketing and administrative support—freeing you to focus on treating your clients.

Collectively, we all work for the mission to offer hope and help people find solutions to their unique and complex problems.

·  Competitive above market pay, clinical oversight, consultation, training options, and liability coverage are included with every position.

· Our de-centralized approach to delivering mental health services to people in rural communities gives you autonomy and support at the same time.

· The private group practice model of pay means you are working for yourself, and we are simply here to support you in the adventure of building your reputation. This puts you in control of your own paycheck size. Unlike a private group practice, we share in the liability and risk of client care, ethical oversight, and policy implementation.

· Build your own area of expertise and treatment delivery practice with a schedule that is built by you.  Our support staff will schedule clients within the hours that you designate as your work hours.

· We offer a buy-in option to benefits, and make a monthly contribution to those benefits for full-time clinical staff. Paid holidays are included for full-time therapists. For temporary licensed therapists, unlimited clinical, board approved, supervision is provided.  For fully licensed clinicians, unlimited clinical consultation is provided by a board approved clinical supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master’s level degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other therapy related field
  2. Two years of related experience required; therapy experience preferred
  3. Active License with the State of Iowa. LMSW or equivalent license, such as t-LMHC, or t-LMFT
  4. Self-motivated, flexible, & dedicated
  5. Able to work on an individual basis, as well as part of a team, to develop and implement treatment plans
  6. Able to problem solve effectively and efficiently; can work independently
  7. Hard-worker; able to work extra hours above and beyond the normal and typical 40-hour workweek when necessary, and able to work evenings or weekends coverage on a rotating basis
  8. Able to effectively model appropriate behavior for other team members, consumers, and volunteers
  9. Able to develop a rapport with external and internal colleagues in order to lead the team towards common goals, according to the Grace C Mae Advocate Center, Inc. mission
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  11. Effective time management skills
  12. Must have knowledge and adequate computer skills for the purposes of documentation, email, research, data collection, etc. Must be familiar with Word, Excel, Power Point, and Gmail. Must be able to learn billing software.
