Our mission is to restore hope in individuals, families, and communities by helping people find solutions to their unique and diverse problems. We envision a community of partnerships that support individuals and families by making the kind of difference that results in happier, healthier citizens.
Enrolling as a patient at Grace C Mae Advocate Center, Inc. is easy! Anyone can refer a patient, and self-referrals are welcomed. To schedule an appointment, call (319) 361-6529 or click the button below to be directed to our "Contact Us" page. Patients are expected to contact their insurance company for any required preauthorizations, if needed. A photo ID and a copy of the insurance card(s) are required at the first appointment. The initial assessment usually lasts about an hour.
During your first appointment, a complete social history is obtained, the paperwork is completed, and the beginning of a treatment plan is developed. In some cases, a safety plan is necessary and will be developed within the first three sessions. Most patients can expect therapy to last about 12-16 weeks, depending on the goals and condition of the patient. Every treatment plan is individualized for each patient, and no two patients will have the same experience during the course of their treatment. Sometimes, patients will choose to change their goals or extend their treatment by adding new goals to work on. It is not too unusual for some patients to choose to remain in treatment for a year or more, depending on how many goals they want to achieve.
At the Grace C Mae Advocate Center, we have experienced therapists capable of handling diverse topics, such as:
Our therapists include marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, and social workers, each with unique training and education. Every client is paired with a therapist who is competent in addressing the concerns prompting services.

Excellence is the only standard of care we believe in.
Current certification expires November 2024.
